The mission of Hamden’s Partnership for Young Children is to improve the education, care, health, and safety of children from birth to age nine.
The vision of Hamden's Partnership for Young Children is that all children in our community have an equitable opportunity to thrive and grow.
What does HPYC do?
HPYC collaborates with a wide range of programs, departments, schools, and resources that support young children and their families.
HPYC manages the School Readiness Grant, which provides funding to a number of eligible families with children in 3-4 years of age in preschool (CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT MODERATE-TO-LOW COST CHILD CARE DUE TO STATE FUNDING). The Partnership applies to and manages various grants which assist financially in our efforts to support families and young children.
How is HPYC Funded?
In conjunction with grants, HPYC is funded by a variety of sources including the Town of Hamden, The Hamden Public Schools, and the Office of Early Childhood. HPYC is an independent collaborative with United Way of Greater New Haven serving as its fiduciary.
