There are a limited number of state-funded child care slots in Hamden. These slots provide financial assistance to families for their infant, toddler or preschooler to attend high quality childcare. There is a fee to families based on income and family size. The child care programs who receive these slots go through an application process and must be accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) within 3 years of receiving slots.
