Hamden's Guide for Early Childhood Educators
To This guide is a resource for classroom staff who work with infants, toddlers and preschoolers, and the families they serve. The first five years of a child's life is one of rapid brain development. During this time of cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional, and motor development, a child's teacher is a driving influence toward impacting this growth. Although development is typically a continuous process with a predictable sequence, each child's development is unique.
This guide acknowledges the uniqueness of each child's development, and the challenges that accompany the task of meeting individual needs and fostering positive developmental outcomes. We hope you will find this guide useful in supporting your crucial role in impacting the positive development of young children.
